WARDOGS Building Guide: FOB Placement and Defensive Positions
Place a useful WARDOGS forward operating base, choose covered approaches and plan defenses that account for changing sightlines and building destruction.
Where should you build a FOB in WARDOGS?
Choose a position that helps teammates reach or hold the objective and has a covered approach. A base far from useful ground contributes less than a modest position supporting an active route. Check the Control Zone before spending.

Evaluate both directions: can friendlies reach it, and can enemies fire into it? A ridge may offer a wide view while exposing every user. Compare nearby landmarks and approaches before selecting the most visible high point.
What should you check before placing a structure?
Confirm the item, placement rules and the job it will do. Find community-recorded structures in the base catalog, then inspect the in-game requirements.
| Site check | Useful question |
|---|---|
| Objective access | Does the position protect a route people need? |
| Entry and exit | Can users arrive and leave without one exposed lane? |
| Support route | Can supplies and vehicles reach the position? |
| Field of view | Does it watch the approach you are defending? |
| Fallback | Where will the team go if cover is destroyed? |
Know who will use an emplacement before buying several of them.
When should you add mortars or anti-air?
When your team has a useful target and an operator for the equipment. Indirect fire needs an area to support; anti-air needs a relevant air approach to cover. Equipment for an imagined future threat may do nothing for the current fight.
Coordinate over voice. Place support equipment where operators can work and retreat. Compare armored fire support and helicopter routes when deciding which threat matters.

Is a sniper tower better than existing high ground?
Only if the view serves the objective and the position is survivable. Extra height can advertise the operatorβs location. Existing terrain may offer a less exposed angle.
Give marksman players a target lane and a way to reposition. A tower or ghillie item is not protection from being spotted and attacked.
Can enemies destroy your cover?
Yes. Building destruction includes official examples of rockets damaging apartment blocks. Keep an alternate route and revisit sightlines as the fight changes.
Not every surface has the same vulnerability. Choose a fallback rather than assuming a wall will survive a particular hit. The launcher guide explains the demolition role.
When should you stop investing in a base?
When it no longer supports a useful route or takes more effort to defend than it contributes. Recheck the objective, cash and who is using the position. More structures will not fix a poor location.
Expand when people use the base, and keep replacement-kit funds so its loss does not end your contribution.
